upon opening there is a lovely aroma of fruit left. There is almost a sweetness of vanilla cream soda mixed with moss and earth. Initial taste is well balanced, fruity cherries and black raspberries which become slightly tannic then ends on a soft harmonious note. After an hour of a slow decant in the bottle the vanilla was gone but you were left with a blend of cherries and smoke, no acid and a smooth finish. Probably close to its peak, worth drinking now. Do not see much of an up side to waiting any longer.

Drunk at the Mandarin Grill Hong Kong - An excellent bottle. Very fine tannins but enough acid to give it body. I think it's raspberries or crushed red berries on the nose that leap out of glass. DRC absolutely nailed this vintage.

I really wish I had the experience that others had, but I just can't help but feel massively disappointed. I was served this blind, so couldn't be influenced by the label, and this was totally outshone by around 5-6 other wines at significantly lower prices. I just found this a bit middle of road. It was OK, but nothing overly complex or impressive. A nice treat, but could never justify spending the price to buy this, as their are far better ways to use that money. Any other wine would get a 90-91, but I just feel it needs to lose a point or two because of the price.

Simply lovely mature burgundy. Last bottle of this, and two of us savored it over a long dinner. Perfect.
