Rich and full-bodied. Some tannins, but not overpowering. I tasted some mocha and fruit.
I drank this with Erez (WineBerserker) at North Square in Greenwich Village. Turns out it was his first Schrader! This is certainly a delicious bottle of wine. It was good at pop n pour. I'd suggest a decant for a few hours before drinking, so the wine can open up. Drink now and enjoy, or Hold. We also drank a '92 Grace Family Cab and a '10 Maybach Chard. I preferred the youthville Scrader to the older, more elegant Grace.
My first bottle of Schrader. Celebrating my son's birthday. Dark purple. Fragrant nose of dark fruit, this is a huge wine with blackberry jam, minerals, cassis, and perfectly balanced acid, oak, and fruit. Super long finish really does last for minutes. Excellent at pop and pour, did evolve over two hours, went well with occasionally challenging food. Fantastic juice!
99+. Flirting with perfection. All the stuffing is there. Dark raspberry and strawberry not cherry. Dark as motor oil. Purple. Grilling herbs, graphite, explosive. In a few years time I could see it being perfect.
Opened and decanted in wide base for 3-4 hours. Schrader always gets better with air, and this is no different. Huge concentration, great balance and good complexity. Dark fruit, spice, cassis and integrated oak. Great stuff but as usually only have one bottle...
