  • Really nice pinot flavors in the high tone red fruit range. The nose has great lift of strawberry, cherries, and rhubarb. The palate displays a nice mix of richness and tension from the acidity. Entering a very nice drinking window.

  • Lovely Pinot perfume on the nose. Big burst of red fruits, raspberry, and some earthy notes. The nose really is reminiscent of a good quality Oregon Pinot (think St. innocent). Rich palate but nicely balanced with acidity and some sweetness from the fruit. A great effort.

  • elzer cancer society charity dinner. steve is related in some manner (cousin?) to the winemaker. fun to try, it's a medium body, light colored pinot that is well balanced and soft. a very nice food wine, and i don't mean for that comment to sound like "she's got a great personality (but she's really ugly)." it's a welcome change to see somebody going for this style. no doubt the cooler climate of caneros has contributed to the profile. i got (mis)quoted in berserkers about this wine. the marcassin bondi is a more interesting, more complex pinot, but i found much to embrace in the campesino. worth a look. good luck with the project.
