  I tried this wine about 6 times, over 2 days. Pop and pour; 3 & 6 hours in decanter. Rebottle and put in fridge. Repeat on day 2. In any case, the tannins are rather strong, not velvety but chalky; the fruit, rather lean so that the acidity here really punches about the fruit. Definitely feel I left the 2007 too long; that it would have had lovely fruit if opened about 5 years ago c. 2018. Live and learn.

  Double decanted 1-2 hrs prior to serving, which seemed about perfect. Medium garnet color. Mushroom, leather, earth, cedar, lavender on the nose. Light cherry, leather, cedar, earth on the palate with lengthy 40-45 sec finish. Great pairing for bbq meats, and probably any meat for that matter. Beautiful balance and possibly the best syrah I have to date, really great wine brought back from France.

  Dark, leather, coffee, plum, meat, very good balance and with a lot of taste/full body. Great with lamb and herbs! Want more.
