  • Lighter bodied for Chianti but pleasingly so with lively mouthefeel and nice sangiovese notes of cherry pie, tobacco and sandalwood. Been on the hunt for a light but correct Chianti for everyday purposes, and this fills the bill perfectly. Only problem is, I bought the last bottle the store had. Drat.

  • Chilled. Popped and poured. Drank over 3 hours.

Trying this one year on since my visit to the estate.

Nose: Opened with gentle notes of red fruits intermingled with classic tuscan iron & blood scents. As dinner progressed the nose revealed more floral notes of rose and lavender.

Taste: Delicious sweet strawberries; real fruit. Had the lightness of a pinot but had a delicious roundness from the sangiovese. Very mild powdery tannins at the end. Very fresh medium bodied wine with a decently long finish. The mid-palate developed further adding a thyme and herb note that extended into the finish. Drinking well now; enjoying the freshness and vibrance of this wine.

Enjoyed this very much. It went well with an array of Italian dishes including lobster & crab ravioli, pizzas, sea bass and lamb. Happy birthday mum!

  • PnP. Crimson with pink rim. Cherry fruit with a touch of earth - yes it is a sangio pinot smell. Light weight modest fruit skin tannin. Light strawberry and sour cherry flavors with a slight earthy element. Modest and without complexity. It would be interesting to see the producer do a stand alone pinot as the two varietals here are in the end less than the sum of the parts in some way all the more so at the price point. Would definitely not buy again.

  • Florence & Tuscan Holiday; 5/9/2011-5/16/2011 (Florence & Tuscany): Popped and poured. Blend of Sangiovese and Pinot Noir.

Nose: It had a nose very reminiscent of a fruity red burg with some Tuscan earthiness I usually get from Chianti in it. Very aromatic notes of cherries and sweet licorice.

Taste: Truly a blend of Sangiovese and Pinot Noir because I get individual and integrated notes from these two elements. Full of vibrant red fruit, fine tannins and a long finish. Very refined. Delish!
