a very well cellared bottle apparently because plenty of fruit, still some hints of purple in the color. this wine had just melded and integrated perfectly over 40 years and was a sublime treat. wotn against many other old CA wines.

1970 - 1978 Ridge Zinfandels (Tom's House, Palo Alto, CA): Slightly funky nose. Sweet fruit, slightly carameled. Hard to evaluate due to too much sediment in my pour. (my 7th, group's 6th)

orange, red, in the color. dried fruit, dust, earth, on the nose. citrus, lemon peel, mineral, earth, on the palate. mild acid, on the finish.
