Magnum. Needed a 60 minute decant for the aromas to integrate and complexity to show. Complex yet aged smoothness. Ripe black fruit with a cocoa and pepper finish. Paired very well with pork ribs. Drank with Amadeo & Mary at their house. Drinking quite well now!

Maybe not peaked yet. First of 3 bottles purchased in release year. Dark inky in appearance. Very good expression of Washington merlot. Vanilla to pencil lead, some blue flowers in between. Seems to open on the tongue, and then disappear. Reminds me of youth, but can then open up a sip later showing more mature dark red fruit. One to watch in another year or 2. I will decant the next bottle a little longer.

(Long Shadows Pedestal Columbia Valley) An aromatically compelling wine with fresh raspberries, coffee, spice, and dark chocolate. The palate is bold and rich with an intense blast of fruit flavors and firm but beautifully integrated tannins. About as good as it gets and should last in the cellar for decades to come. 81% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot. Taptiel, Dionysus, Weinbau, Conner Lee. Aged 22 months in French oak (85% new). 14.7% alcohol. 2,012 cases produced.

Funky on the nose. Not much better on the palate. Some cherry fruit. Tannic and oaky.

Despite the obvious age, I thought this had attractive acidity and nice juiciness, with a distinct similarity to the following (much younger) sibling

Lots of fruit but seemed way past its peak, almost pruny, some bitter notes at the end. Not a good bottle I think.
Brought to WA Merlot tasting with CT and Berserker folks, generally not well liked (spot on). The 2018 version of this wine was tasting beautifully.
