Color is a dark red and the wine is clear but there is sediment built up at the bottom and on the bottom of the cork. The wine is still showing it's youth with a big nose of blueberries and blackberries. There is some bacon fat or meatiness in the background as well as some alcohol. On the tongue the wine is dry and medium/full bodied. It comes off a medium acidity, with medium drying tannins. The flavors are the same as the nose except the addition of some pepper notes. It finishes nicely with a bit of tartness . It's good at the sale price of $14 a bottle but would be overpriced at the full $26. This is definitely a wine in the modern style with a lot of fruit up front and higher alcohol. I'm not sure how well it will age but it's drinking nicely now.

Opened, poured through a Vinturi into a decanter, and poured into a glass, after a Zinfandel I previously opened was completely oxidized. Very dark in color, medium body, nice acidity, with a medium length finish. Nice bottle of wine.

Notes of black currant, very complex and deep flavors of berries almost jammy finish for a Syrah. Coats your tongue.
