  • This was bad wine, but bad in a unique, super distinctive way. The nose is extremely ripe, like port, with figgy sweet black fruit and a lot of caramelly oxidation. But in the mouth it's very tart, tannins mostly resolved, with the caramelly figginess curt short by tons of acidity. Not an enjoyable combination. I wonder what this was like in its youth.
