Local Carignano (85%) from Incisa della Rocchetta who tells a story mirroring Sassicaia, and Santadi Winery. Rich wine with notes of leather, graphite, licorice and underbrush melt with some ripe red fruit. The limit of this Barrua is that - at the end - it is hard to tell it is a Carignano because all this somehow covers the real nature of the grapes. But the outcome is undoubtly seductive.

Well balanced between fruit and oak - plenty of both and a drying tannic kick, too.
