  • 92: I don't know if I have ever had such a smooth Zinfandel! Extra age has mellowed the tannins and left an amazing mix of flavors. This drank fantastic right out of the bottle. The aroma offers a hint of the terroir that rests just below the dominant fruit. Easy mouthfeel. Beautiful dark red-purple color with no hint of browning. Hard to believe that the CT "drink by" date was 4 years ago. If you still have a bottle, and you've been storing it well, give this a chance. And if you happen to stumble across a dusty bottle in a back shelf of a store somewhere, buy it!

  • Not bad on day three. Finally opened up. Jammy, dark fruit. Very closed at first.

  • Dark red color. Ripe nose, raisin-y, and burnt skins related, if not a high percentage of raisin-ed clusters. On arrival, medium tannin and medium-low acidity. Flavors are correct for straight ahead zin from a very warm site (Amador county, Lodi, etc), but gosh - this comes from a beautiful vintage for zin growing, sourced from typically well-tended, mature plantings, fairly low yield and much cooler Sonoma Valley hillside parcels. Harvested too late for my taste but there is something here for lovers of that style.

  • Very nice. Spicy on the tongue. Not as fll bodied as I expected - a bit shallow in the mouth. Would buy again..

  • Jammy...initially red berries and brambles, but after an hour in the glass, very much blackberry jam. A hint of anise at times, but also something like plastic, which is off-putting. Initial mouth-feel is smooth and flat, but it finishes well-balanced, with nice acidity, fruit and tannin levels. Disappointing QPR.
