Burgundy Tasting (Bistro Cocotte, Haberfield): Initially slight volatility means it shows more red than blackberry, plentiful spice, leather, forest floor, earthy, mushroom and slightly peppery notes. Quite nail varnish remover on the palate with lashings of tannins that close things down. The volatile acidity lends a red currant note to the fruit on the palate. Long. Pity about that rather intrusive volatility...not quite flawed for everyone.

Deep ruby. Complex, gamy nose with prominent tart red fruit as well. Meatier and weightier than I'd found it before, but chunky and gawky in the style of the vintage. Mixed red and black fruit, some fennel, and solid tannins remain. This wine continues to perk along, perhaps gaining slightly over time but still showing no signs of turning into something great.

Tasting blind, I was sure this was the Vogue Musigny 01 I'd brought. Dark, silky, fresh, but somewhat restrained.

die Himbeernote und der aromatische Abgang (gemäss Johnson) sind vorhanden. Der Wein präsentiert sich jugendlich, no rush to consume.

Blind. A bit unclear due to sediments, a lot of tannin, over the top development, must have been a better wine 5-10 years ago.
