This is drinking well. Nice balance, though perhaps not quite with the bottle boquet I'd hoped to find. A bit shier and less hot than the 2007 CDPs I've had of late, though I understand this is a predominantly grenache blend. Drink or hold.

Decanted for about an hour and a half. This wine was a very pleasant surprise. I was expecting something akin to a big, extracted luxury cuvee CDP. Instead, the wine was translucent ruby-colored, more medium bodied than full, smooth and well balanced, with sufficient remaining tannin and acidity for balancing structure. lingering finish 93ish

French (but non-Rhone) Tasting with Michel Chapoutier (Manzanilla - New York NY): Tasting. Blackberry and black cherry aromas with spice hints. Firm and well structured on palate with similar flavor profiles, slightyl backward. Needs time.
