  • Decanted 4 hours, consumed over 2 1/2 hours. Candied black cherry & berry preserves on the nose. Dense on the palate, with concentrated fruit notes dominating. High acidity but no heat showing from the 15.1% abv, and strangely enough, very low in tannin.

This is an unusual wine - not readily identifiable as cab, and not really showing its age except for a slight brown tinge in the color. Blind, I might have guessed a modern CdP or Languedoc from 2009 or so. No reason to rush on drinking these if you have one.

  • Very unusual cab. Hint of vanilla on the nose, quite strong vanilla on the palette initially leading to a slight tannic finish. Smooth and light for a cab. Did I say unusual but still nice.
