Meh. If blind against $20 wines don’t think I could have picked it out. Lack of body, fruit is present but not overly impressive, finish is thin. Disappointing.

Interesting wine from Pott. Not sure what the percentages are here, but you can taste a lot of Merlot. Pretty mature at this point, with earthy minerality and leather notes on the pallet. Very nicely balanced wine and easy to drink. Certainly reminds me of a right bank bordeaux, showing lots of elegance and finesse. Sediment is significant.

Enjoyed at Nick and Sam's Steakhouse Uptown Dallas. I give this an NR as I don't think this wine was decanted nearly long enough. This wine was decanted for probably 40 minutes before it was really served. I tell you this one was a bit different. This "Merlot forward" wine really changed things up, yet had just enough Cab and other varietals that it kind of attenuated the stink of the Merlot (sorry Napa Sommeliers, I'll say "austerity"). Poured a very dense almost black into the ionized glass. The wine was already showing some crushed grape stem, grape leaf tang, and dirty black cherry with this sweetness somewhere in there. The wine on the palate was all Merlot forward with a darker, dense earthy punch, but then turned dark into blackberry and a hint of licorice. The wine finished with some fig, high cacao dark chocolate. Didn't ever lose its density. However, when the steak came this wine was eclipsed quite easily by a 2007 Sartori Corte Bra Amarone that picked it up and slam dunked it into the second row of the wrestling arena (for half price). This wine probably would have presented a little better if it had decanted half the night. Sorry...just didn't last that long.

Really just average plus. And that’s being nice.
