  • This was drinking beautifully from a 3.0L served with goat leg and all the fixings at the King's Table at the Girl n the Goat. The tannins were still present and just enough fruit to please the palate. Drank alongside a 375ml mini bottle that was past it's prime.

  • When I tasted it at the winery, i didn't think much, but KF said just wait. We did and were richly rewarded! Exlnt. Decanted for 2 hrs. some sediment evident. The wine was rich ans smooth with ripe cherries, balckberries, leather, etc. all the good cabernet qualities. We loved it.
No comment fm Jeff- no more wine for you!

  • Every once in a while, you open a bottle at the right time. Timing can be everything...and this was one of those times. A $15 bottle, that tasted 3 x's that. A huge wine, classic cabernet structure, w/cedar, leather and some tobacco. Smooth tannins, but not refined, in a high end way, a little rough around the edges. Delicious, I kind of wish I had brought this to a blind cabernet tasting, and pulled the wool over a lot of folks eyes. I'm thinking this verifies the great qualities of the '97 cabs, and look forward to drinking, the other 97''s in the cellar.
