A fabulous wine in the outstanding range for sure. Lovely barrel notes support deep cassis throughout the palate while the supple, generous texture leaves no hard edges lying around. This could have gone a few more miles in the cellar for sure but its drinking wonderfully right now.

Consistently our least favorite FH, regardless of vintage. It lacks the finesse of their other bottlings.
4-11-15 update: the extra year has been good. Earthy olive/mushroom/kirsch/? tones to the berry flavors adds interest. S says smokey, but I don't get that. Upgrade to 89.

(Fielding Hills Tribute Red Wine RiverBend Vineyard Wahluke Slope) Very aromatically closed up initially this wine opens to reveal dark fruit, mint, chocolate, and sweet spices. The palate is rich and full bodied, full of chocolate and cherry flavors that linger on the finish. 31% Cabernet Franc, 30% Syrah, 30% Merlot, and 19% Cabernet Franc. Aged 19 months in American and French oak (68% new). 15.7% alcohol. 221 cases produced. Sample provided by winery.
