Decanted for about an hour before serving. Big and DEEElicious and only got better over the next hour. Deep purplish black in the glass, amazingling smooth and not over the top on the fruit. Fantastic.
This is still a very young wine. Lots of tannins obscure the finish, but great savory fruit, very structured, with nice acids and a very full, creamy midpalate. Does not have the typical pepper of most WA Syrahs (this is actually from an Oregon vineyard, outside the Walla Walla Valley AVA). Give this about 3-4 years of cellar time, and it will be a stunner!
