Swells with grenache funk: game meats, wet moss, river rock and stewed rhubarb. Earth based on the palate with wet soil, mountain raspberry, cassis, beefy biltong, clove, coriander seed, sanguine and tarragon. This Grenache is not a shy wine, but complex with plenty of acidity.

This is just a perfectly balanced wine. Edgy and crisp while still staying in balance with the beautiful fruit. A little bit restrained on the nose, it is still beautiful. One friend described this wine as "too perfect" with no flaws to latch on to when talking about it. A real stand out of a wine.

Aged 9 months 33% new French oak, 67% neutral French oak. Linda Donovan is the winemaker and knows her stuff. Great refinement in this grenache. I love the old world/new world dichotomy of their wines, they've captured this nuance well without too much heavy metal (none, in fact) and less cedar notes. It's a grenache to savor to the last drop.

Clearly let this slip past it's prime. All acid, minimal nose and mouth; but not yet vinegar. Guess I can salvage for cooking.

Probably a bit past it's prime, but clearly a well crafted wine. My only Cowhorn to date. Hope to try more from this producer.
