A Birthday Celebration (Taste 222 - Chicago IL): From magnum. Still bright and fresh. Nicely floral with fresh and baked apple, coming across as very Chardonnay-driven. Good+ weight and very good textures for Champagne at this age.

- Yellow gold color with small pearls - Golden color. Nose is wonderful showing slightly oxydized notes, pink grapefruit burnt apples, dried apricots. Very fine bubbles but still fresh. Caramel, salty finish. Still a nice mature Champagne but I was missing the length in the mid-palate. Still some life ahead
Note: wine comes out of a perfectly stored Original case which is defenitely adds to the quality.

1982 and other wines: Nose initially quite closed. A bit of typical fudge and dust. Intensity of taste was medium, I usually expect more from older Champagne. It opens up nicely with air, one must give it some 20-30 minutes in the glass. It will lose most of its remaining bubbles, but will gain in the bouquet.

Thanksgiving Wines (Chapel Hill, NC): We're not sure this has been stored all that well, but this was actually drinking pretty well; citrus fruits, smoke, roasted nuts and brioche flavors, with the acidity slightly fading at the end

For my wife's birhday. Great mature Champagne. Bubbles are only very few left but the wine is still very fresh and great to drink.
