  • had at the Sedgwick's last night, i encouraged Sedge to open alongside a Faiveley Clos Vougeot 2004, he said it would undoubtedly be spoiled… in fact it was well past peak and therefore modest, smooth and a little soft, but pleasant… he was surprised (as he was recently when i served him a very lively '58 Borgogno Barolo), he is coming around that the right Italian wines with the proper aging can be extraordinary

  • With Kathy and Miranda at dinner at Romano's (while our house was being "de-flead").Surprisingly light color. Ruby red. Classic Chianti nose. Good fruit, slightly woody. On the palate, quite tannic and woody, though very nice with dinner (linguine piscatore). A bit austere. Good, but not as good as the '82. 4-9-14-6: 83/100.
