Tasted at a big California tasting. Nice notes of dark fruit (blackberries, blueberries), cassis, tobacco leaf, sweet spices some minerality. It's full-bodied and dense, with medium-high acidity and medium-high tannin. Good length. A pretty rich and opulent Viader and slightly different from what I remember from older vintages.
Drank with Janet on the terrace overlooking their beautiful steep vineyards on Howell Mountain. Delicious! The wine looks purple colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, black currant (cassis), mineral and eucalyptus. The body is full. The wine has polished texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.
