  • I'm told this is a blend of pinot noir, trousseau, and poulsard. Pretty pure red berry fruit on the nose, with a kind of earthy, woodsiness wildness and a hint of light caramel sweetness. Light bodied but with gorgeous intense, saturating red fruit that really expands in the mouth and seems to come from nowhere. Very high acidity and some earthy, slightly rustic tannins that benefit from food. Wonderful length. This is absolutely lovely right now. Blind it could maybe pass for a Cote de Beaune, but it's a little lighter in body and less structured and, frankly, better than most CdB reds.

  • Wow, now that's a wine! This is drinking beautifully. This has none of the tartness or under-ripe qualities that can bedevil cool-climate reds like this. It's just smooth, delicate, lovely stuff.
