Good, deeply red colour. Great scents of some fruit. Not massively complex. But a solid claret at 57 years of age. Acidity is a bit high but all in all a very good treat. Great birthday wine. Got cork out intakt. No decant. Drank nicely over one hour snd Was appreciated by everybody.

Looks bright and youthful, with a little bricking around the rim. The nose has some cedar, leather and truffle indicating a bit of age, but it is essentially youthful and vibrant. There are briary fruits in the mouth and a bit of tobacco and earth. It is mid-weight, balanced and vibrant and finishes with an uptick of fresh, minerally acidity.

Classic Medoc wine drinking beautifully right now. It no longer needs decanting. Beautiful hue with minimal browning. Traditional nose with excellent complexity: earthy, spices, cigarbox, evolved fruit. Some would consider an herbal element detrimental but it adds yet another dimension to an impressive wine. Effortless elegance after 55 years. Good luck finding this is wines currently produced.
bottle, fill and cork all good. Excellent claret, classic style, somewhat like a Graves. A well stored bottle needs an hour of decanting (or more) to be at its best.

quite a dusty nose but with vibrant ruby colour On palate, still very balanced, some fruits left, good weight also. The surprise was that this wine was enjoyable.
