Just a lovely, balanced dessert wine with really good freshness to go along with the mature flavors of apricot and overripe melon. Excellent acidity and vigor yet so smooth and finely-textured. Amazing how well this has aged.

{Bought on release, from 375, only a couple of mm of ullage} Golden amber with a touch of brown (guests wondered if it was a white wine!). Spectacular nose, rich, long, great bracing acidity to match the sweetness. Qualitatively probably the best wine of a dinner party that included Grand Cru dry Burgundies. You do NOT have to rush to drink this wine up if you are lucky enough to own any that has been stored well.

Deep amber color. Explosive nose of baked apple, sweet spice, dried pineapple. Full bodied, spicy, stone fruit, light honey. Quite sweet but with (just a bit shy of perfect) acidity, almost refreshing to drink. Very long finish. This is drinking very well right now.

(Domaine des Baumard Quarts de Chaume Grand Cru) Bright amber color; pepper, prosciutto and melon nose; oxidized but good maple syrup, umami, mineral palate with acidity; long finish 95+ pts.

This was delicious. Complex but not cloyingly sweet, and loads of acid to keep it fresh and lively. Loved it.

Orange, gold hue. Citrus nose. Tangerine, light marmalade, citrus. Light, not cloying, vibrant, complex, nicely structured, perfect dessert wine. Terrific ending to a great meal.
