The VSV range is produced from Single Vineyards that come from of Peter Lehmann's 140 grower vineyards across the Barossa. With this wine produced from the Orrock family vineyard in the Flinders Ranges.
The wine is a mature red in the glass, the nose shows expressive but integrated vanillin oak that is matched in equal measure by dense plum with a savoury edge.
The palate has depth of plum and dark cherry that is wrapped by spicy vanillin oak. The tannins are fully integrated and give just enough of a contrast to the full fruit and oak characters that give such a luxurious mouthfeel on the mid palate. The finish shows the wines class and sheer drinkability with influence of oak dissipating and more savoury spice and leathery aspects giving the fruit a briny complex feel. Excellent length. Nice but not great. Would be disappointed if I had paid more than $25 for it - luckily it was free!

Drank this wine too early to see its true potential, still quite tannic, would leave for a few years yet.
