Clear, fresh, smoky minerality, more salt and menthol than fruit in the forefront. Milky/chalky notes that might remind of oak but the wine is unoaked.

Very pale. Recent purchase. Sufficient fruit and depth for high acidity. Medium bodied. Good length. Classic dry Chenin Blanc. Still young. Last many years.

Unfortunately never saw the full potential here. This was left open for an hour before serving, and then consumed over another 1.5 hours. I felt it was pretty bland overall and not as high-acid as I expected/wanted. A lot of pear and green-apple aromas but not much else. The palate felt oily, a little flabby and a bit nondescript in flavour overall. It only really opened up when there was about a mouthful left in the last glass. A bit of cut grass, orange zest and almost-volatile citrus fruit aromas started to peek through the curtains, but the palate was still a little unbalanced and lacking in flavour and interest for me. I should have decanted it.
