Coravin fun - Lafon Rochet (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Biscuit, wet stone and earth, autumn leaves, brambles and wild blackcurrant. Smells 'wet', touch of pyrazine. And the wetness translates to the palate, medium plus intensity acidity is a little sharp, plentiful tannins are drying and a little grainy, slight unripe blackcurrant; not volatile just a bit unripe. Leather, earth. Interesting.

From Coravin. Leather, earth, mushroom, blackberry and blackcurrant, cedar, floral top note, Asian five spice, a little black tea, toast. High intensity acidity is mouthwatering. there is a smidge of rhubarb and red and black fruit, with leather, then the medium plus intensity, tight, chalky tannins close down the palate.

Coravin fun - Bordeaux dozen; 7/13/2018-7/19/2018 (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Savoury spice, biscuit, muted wild blackcurrant, cedar, earthy. In the mouth it's juicy and fresh with subdued and slightly sour blackcurrant brambles, tannic grip on the front of the mouth and a little mid palate burr. All travel long. It's very 'Claret' and exceedingly enjoyable.

I have an English palate. This wine was near perfect for an enjoyable silken old Bordeaux taste experience. If ever you have the opportunity to drink a well stored bottle don't pass it up. Sadly in our Parkerized world this wine would be under appreciated. CDP it is not...

This wine just confirmed my preference for St Estephe wine. Very nice.
