Drank at Clos de Tart, served by Monsieur De Villaine. You need to have a glass of this wine! Minerality, sapidity... lemon! But velvet, deep! It is a remarkable wine! The crazy and funny things to me was also the smell: little red fruit to a white wine!

1 barrel made, from vines that are >100 years old (they don't exactly knowhow old, other than knowing that they were old when they bought them in the late '60s).
The bouquet is extremely strong, and this has a kaleidoscopic mix of minerals, citrus, and spices on the palette, but above all the thing that stands out is the length, running into the minutes as the flavors change and move around the mouth. The room was silent for this quasi-religious experience.
While tasting this: "its about as good a wine as one could ever make." I pray I get to try this again before I die. This is the only white wine I have ever scored six stars, head and shoulders above any other white I have tried before. While some believe perfection is not attainable, this is a strong counter-argument. ******

Incredibly rich and incredibly good. It is smoky and loaded with sappy white peach, spiced pear and candied citrus. The palate is layered and fruit is creamy with a citrus twang to it. There are floral notes with air and a finish that goes on and on.

Served at the Domaine blind. This was a totally beautiful wine, with classic white fruit, honeysuckle, not insignificant weight and fullness on the mouth. Touch of dilution on the mid-palate, but that is the vintage. Caramel freshness, apricots and strawberries even. Fine acidity matched with lovely sweetness. A rare treat.

Very different style of Batard, some sweet notes, almost caramel, but also good acidity. Long.
