Rating might be too high but fantastic balance in this wine, which has has improved in length and depth from aging. Really good, and, if you dont know scheurebe, unusual wine.

Very light yellow strawish color. The nose is quite outspoken, and is very similar to SB from the Loire. Perhaps a bit more down to earth. But the gooseberries are primary and it takes some looking after to detect the broad spectre of aromas. However, the pepper, mango, orange peel and light rose petals are slowly but surely taking over from the gooseberry, which really makes the wine more pleasant. On the palate other layers are coming out. Light (well, everything about this wine is light) liqourice, fresh mango and there is a more herbal thing coming - not quite basil, but similar. There is more leaves down there, can put my finger on it. It is a wine that has only just started to develop. In the glass I find the wine changing slowly into a deeper more nuanced nose and palate. The wine becomes broader and more velvety, without this being accurate enough. The acidity just kicks in from time to time, lifting the wine and underpins the lightness and elegance of it. This is a wine that requires attention, otherwise you'll never know you met it. But it has quite a lot to offer. I really like it, although it is not in any way big, it flies under the radar with its delicate elegance - enjoy.

Ap: Pale straw yellow Ar: Never tried a Schreube before, but for me it was very similar to French Sauvignon Blanc wines. Gooseberries and asparagus. Medium bodied with medium intensity. Medium to good length

Light straw yellow colour. Grapefruit, pineapple, kiwi and green gooseberries on the nose. Very full and concentrated nose, much simpler on the palate. Lots of tannins but also a lot of green apples initially. Balanced nicely in the mouth. Perhaps a bit short in the ending.
