Smells gorgeous, toasty, green apples - wow! Stone fruit on the palate, peaches and apricots, really doesn't taste that sweet, so well balanced. Acidity not that high for riesling, or so it seems. Might just be very balanced. Extremely long.

Nose generally in line with what you would expect, but on the faint/reticent side. In the mouth, tangerine and apricot fruit, barley sugar and creamy rice-pudding vibes. Starts off a little thin, but shows more heft through the mid-palate and finish. Good acid-sugar balance. Should continue to develop nicely, but no real fireworks from this bottle.

From 375ml. Prior bottle was one year ago and my notes were virtually identical. Peach, honey and floral notes on the nose. Between medium and full bodied and like the prior bottles, started off as tight and more one dimensional, but with time, opened up and expressed quite well. Peach and other golden orchard fruit upfront. Deepens markedly through the middle, bringing in lots of tropical notes (especially pineapple, mango and orange). Acidity on the backside was more noticeable with this bottle than the immediately prior one. Coupled with the tart fruit notes, this wine had a lengthy finish. Still very much a young wine and even in half bottle, still years away from peak. There's so much complexity here and so many nuances; part of me is sad I opened this so early. But the way the acidity works with the fruit in this young stage simply works really well for me.
