Nice evolution and well integrated. 92 that pushes 93.
The other wine from the great Napa producer, Philip Togni.
The mouthfeel is supple, round, soft, yet meaty and tarry tannins. Ripe, juicy, rich; blackberries, baked plum for days, dark cherries, black raspberries, hues of raspberries & boysenberries. Black licorice, berry cola, muddy, volcanic clay, herbaceous notes, soft baking spices, slightly, melted chocolate, dark spice with a touch of heat, coffee, dry crushed, rocks, dry stem, dry tobacco, new leather, oak to cedar shavings, volcanic ash, dark, slightly withering, red, blue flowers framed in a field of endless violets, rainfall acidity, great balance, nice tension/structure and a smartly polished finish that last a full minute.
If you own, I would drink over the next 3-4 years before it starts to slide.

Friday Night Brown Bagger (R&R's): Blind. Garnet color. Through the first pass this shows raspberry and somewhat brambly ripe fruit. With air it becomes much more Bordeaux-like, showing black currants, herb/green notes, rhubarb and something a touch vegetal/funky/earthy. Plum and dark fruit dominates the palate. Finishes with good length. Consensus around the table was that this was Bordeaux.
This had been double decanted off its sediment three hours before the flight was poured. A couple of ounces kept off to the side and followed over a couple of hours continued to drink nicely. I would suggest a two hour decant if consuming now, though a couple of years in the cellar won’t hurt either.

Very disappointing. Deep red, still some fruit on the nose, and high high heat. Disjointed and too heated for our tastes. Perhaps it will improve once it’s been opened for a while, but we decided to try something different instead.

A dead ringer for modern-style Bordeaux. Nicely developed and fairly complex nose with pencil shavings, blackcurrant/plum, brown spice and bit of green pepper. Full-bodied and flavourful with well-integrated alcohol (14%), adequate freshness, smooth tannins and chocolatey mouthfeel. Somewhat more exciting with the first sips than the last.
