Nice, though perhaps a bit overpriced. Nose is oaky and reminiscent of baking spice with a hint of eucalyptus. On the palate this has medium + body, and is overall fairly balanced - nothing too jammy, just nice berry fruit and a pleasant, dry finish with good length.
Here I go drinking a wine too soon again. Last wine of night, following a lineup of mostly Rhone blends. Delicious fruit in this on a brawny (but not obese) frame with noticeable oak. Feels primary, like a few doors are closed somewhere within. This will continue to develop - I need to let these Zinfandels go.
The first smell and sip are a shock to the senses in a good way. A bit of a kick in the mouth but lots of big flavor and good spice. After it opened, it's fruit forward w/ a little dried apricot on the nose. Tannins on the sides of the tongue, a little jammy in the middle and peppery on the finish. We enjoyed this but it would have been better with a heavier meal. All in all a good wine, similar to mazzoni home ranch from ridge. Enjoyed it a lot though and a good one to try if you like bigger wines.
