This has a really pretty, almost profound, red-fruity profile with a bit of both a Volnay violets, perfume, and Gevrey-earth type profile. As AM said, this might give some 1er crus a run for their money. This bottle seemed quite hot on the first and third night open-this is the fourth-and it's finally settled down. Very impressive, and much more serious than the other Marsannays I've tried. Will the Favieres be as good eventually?
It's tough to find good Burgundy under $30; this qualifies. Nice red fruit on nose and palate. Not especially complex today, but clean and satisfying. I suspect this still has some positive development ahead, but a satisfying mid weight to drink today.
