Very fresh and nice bottle. Gosset Vitage usually get a tone of pears with age that is very pleasant. Will probalby hold for another 10 years without effort.

Not much pssch on opening. The cork was in good shape with what looked to be a good seal. Dark golden color. Clearly looks advanced. Brassy, nutty, oxidative scent with good lift and acidity. These flavors repeat on the palate but somehow it all works. Finishes rich, creamy nutty and dry with a crisp finish driven by the acids. Very nice if you like the style. A previous bottle a couple of years ago was much fresher without the extensive oxidation.

Fully mature but drinking well - almost the color of tea but not much pronounced oxidation. Still retained lovely aromatics and a sappy, almost red fruit long finish. Quite good but this bottle is near end of life - glad to have caught it. Solid.

nice light golden color. Nose shows its age, oxydative notes, mushrooms, chalk, a bit of citrus. this is not very complex. the palate shows fine bubbles, decent length. I did not check what the dosage was, but it feels like 10g. Again, not very complex. overall this is an enjoyable champagne but one that is quick forgotten.

(GOSSET Grande Millesime) Gosset Dear Friends, As you get bombarded by Champagne offers, let me add one to the pile. I tasted this wine a few nights ago and it is even better than I remember. We offered it a year or so ago and the extra year has brought out even more elegance and nobility. I’ve been fairly long-winded today so I will just say, this wine is fabulous, floaty and long - I was able to get a small stash of cellar stock and it is quite worthy of your interest: VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED This parcel is directly form the source with perfect provenance – should be here right before Christmas: 1999 Gosset Grande Millesime Champagne Brut Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Champ9990
