Delicious. The wet cork was a good sign. Alcohol present with medium tannins and good acidity. Cab flavors dominate but you know the varietals are present.

At opening it seemed to have a freshness and tannins with dusty earth and kirsch aromas. After an hour of air it was spot on delicious but about another hour later it turned oxidized and pruney.
If you have any at this point, I would plan on giving it a tiny bit of air and consuming relatively quickly.

Final bottle out of four. The wood and heat are integrating and new high-beam notes of red currant and red cherries are emerging on the palate, along with more pronounced soy, dill, and herbal savory notes. Drink 2020-2025. Technical score: 91. Enjoyment score: 92.

Consistent with notes from last year. Paired nicely with flank steak off the grill. Still unwinding the oak and savory notes, so should be best 2020-2024. Technical score: 91. Enjoyment score: 91.

(Cadence Tapteil Vineyard Red Wine Red Mountain) Cabernet Sauvignon aromas of olive, black currant, fresh herbs, and cassis rise out of the glass followed by floral, mineral, and barrel notes on this aromatically brooding wine. On the palate, the black plum flavors show great depth and intensity, pinpoint focus, a palate coating feel, and tannins combed to a fine sheen. A highly structured wine that goes off the end of the delicious scale. Best after 2017. 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Cabernet Franc, and 14% Merlot. 14.4% alcohol. Sample provided by winery.
