Smoke, tar, licorice and black cherry. A tad overwhelming oak in the palate when PnP. Smooths out nicely with aeration. There's no question that this wine continues to be age-worthy, and will need more years aging to reach it's peak.

PnP. All smoke and cedar on the nose. Initially, blackberry, stewed black cherries, licorice and pepper. Opens up to reveal cola and red meat. An Italian Syrah with aspirations of Old World heft. Lingering finish and quite nice, but not sure it is worth the $40 per bottle.

Black plum, dark chocolate, dried tobacco, anise, all great notes, love this rendition from what is becoming a region strewn with more expatriot varietals.

Rich and chewy, but little else. Fruit is somewhat flabby with little finish and aftertaste of alcohol. Notes are consistent day one and day two. Certainly not worth $40...

Put on weight very quickly, chewy tannins, almost raisny at finish.
