Barthod can be lithe and sophisticated. This wine showed some fruit and no green but was wholly disappointing. No interesting nose, a nice medium garnet color, but aside from some sous bois and dark black cherry notes, not much.

This was delightful. It opened right away, with forward, ripe and juicy dark plums, and the palate had the texture of plum flesh, bright acidity, quite long on the palate, juicy and vibrant. With air, the fleshy texture becomes more silky, the dark fruit now showing touches of red, cherries along with the plums. This is so balanced and pleasing. With more air, the tannins emerge, but the fruit is sweet and the palate is silky and the whole is really something. For a village wine from an off vintage, this is impressive and delicious. In the Berkshires.

I agree with previous reviewers that this tastes more Gevry than Chambolle and it is rustic rather than refined. My previous bottle seemed prettier....

This is an amazing wine. Layers of fruit and earthiness with enough acid to make it feel light in the mouth but with tons of flavor.

Opened with reasonable expectations- this wine over all disappoints. Rather acidic and short with no complexity to speak of. Overpriced if you ask me.
