What an elegant bottle of wine! Rich deep dark inky look to it. Tannins still present but beginning to soften. Notes of cassis, licorice and chocolate in the taste. An abundance of ripe red fruits and blackberries. Fantastic wine with dinner!

This rich and elegant wine is just entering its drinking window, and what a beautiful window it is. This wine has an incredible balance of ripe and earthy flavors, with a generosity and class that are beguiling. That prickly and peppery nature of Pritchard Hill is still in there, but in an integrated and polished way.
Cherry red in color; medium in body; incredible aromas of dried blueberry, fresh thyme, dried herbs, pepper, cocoa bean, and flavors of boysenberry, black currant, graphite, espresso, and gravel, with a grainy finish that has plenty of roundness and lift. 14.5% alcohol. I heard someone describe this wine recently as “ethereal,” which is as good a description as any. Drink in next 3-7 years, but it’s phenomenal now.

Score says it all - smooth (perfect mix of acidity & tannins); strong lasting finish. Very enjoyable. Down to my last 2 bottles...but it was made to drink!

Winter in Wineland; 1/14/2017-1/20/2017 (Sonoma & Napa): Tasted at the winery and we again were encouraged to think about where the wine was hitting the mouth. This was all top of the palette. Called it levity. Again a very young wine and honestly a bit less intense than I remember it being. Blue fruits. Lighter and elegant in nature. Very enjoyable. For one of us this was the wine of the tasting.
