Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 91.5 points

  • A developed, elegant and modern nose with ripe blackberries, ripe dark cherries, animal notes incuding meat juices, various relatively mild spice notes, some violets and other flowery notes, and well integrated notes of new oak with vanilla. Very polished palate with good concentration, dark cherries, blackberries, fine acidity, a tiny bit of tar notes, some spices and some vanilla that hints at the oak treatment, polished tannins that still have a bit of bite in the finish, and a long aftertaste with tart berries plus a bit of spice and tannins. Rather fully developed, but will keep, 92 p.
As expected quite a modern style, but one that is highly elegant and has developed beautifully. An excellent effort for the vintage.
