CRiBBS @ La T (La Trompette, London): Mid to light gold. Initially leaner and more minerally but opens up nicely to show just as richly as the 87 alongside. Classic Tondo. *****

Medium golden yellow. Bright and clean. Nose quiet sherry notes. Palate is a different story with lively and complex blend of sherry, tropical fruit, honey balanced beautifully with a fine acidic backbone. Intense +++ fresh +++ and very long finish.

Not decanted. A deep golden colour, slightly sherryish on the nose a palate with a medium finish. Good but not a good as I remember. Going downhill or just not a great bottle?

Golden, bronzed colour - huge oily rivulets. Strange and irony, briny nose. Nutty, waxy, mushroomy sensations. Dried oranges with cloves in. Caramelised ginger. Ancient dust. Uncompromisingly authentic and idiosyncratic. Tremendously convincing and serious. But also playful and humorous. Powerful and memorable. A great, great wine. Be in no doubt.
