Wine Bros: A Study of Syrah (Cowford Chophouse): Landonne to me is the LaLa that is really never ready (which is saying something because they all need a lot of time). So it was the one that we most actively worked to get some air into and to give it some time to open up and we were well rewarded. One of the most open Landonne’s I’ve had esp for this age. Drinking nicely. The 100% Syrah and fun to see what that looks like.

NYE 2022 bottle, Torrisi NYC. Slow ox for 4-6H before hand, Audouze method. Fantastic. some savory meat/bacon, mint, super clear wine - cork barely soaked at all - seems to have a long life ahead, so I think the drinking window here (ending 2020) is very far off. Likely has 10+ more years before any sort of decline. But seems to be drinking very well right now. we all loved it.

Opened and decanted for probably close to 4 hours in afternoon before rebottling and bringing to dinner. More open than most landonnes. Black fruit and bit more mineral and spice and generally enjoyable.

Q4 2021 Wine Club: The Return with Aged Rhone (Our apt): Wine #1: Strong start right out of the gate. It’s all gamey and smokey and the best of Northern Rhône. I called Cote Rotie perhaps because I liked it and that is one of my favorite regions. (5 pennies)

Magnifique, servi à l’aveugle, avait des airs de beau Pinot de Bourgogne, superbe finesse, belle matière tout en équilibre, vraiment beau.
