Wine has turned. It's completely over the hill. A friend gave me this bottle about ten months ago, she said she won it. If you have some, use it for cooking purposes; that's what I'll do.

This has got to be the best $17 Syrah on the planet. The nose explodes with a classic Northern Rhone bouquet of cracked black pepper, green olives, smoked meat and gamy black fruit. The palate is medium bodied with lightly concentrated fruit and juicy acids. Terrific depth with flavors that echo the nose. So enjoyable and easy to drink while offering abundant character and complexity for the price point.

Clear med ruby. Clean dusty dark berry nose, hint of red liquorice. Palate has a lovely pepper and dark berry combo, med + acidity, med +tannin. Long interesting finish, still developing. Wish I had the discipline to have left it for a couple more years. Very nice now but it will only get better.

On day 1. Very fresh, light bodied, good acidity, lots of pepper.
Didn't taste on day 2 but today on day 3 (kept under cork in fridge) very expressive nose of red meat and leather, more refined peppery notes than day 1. As a Burgundy lover, this is my style of wine, lots of acidity and elegance. Very nice for it's level and price. 88 for now, and given development over the past days, there is room for improvement over the next couple of years. Charming little northern Rhône wine! (extra point awarded for value)

PnP, reminiscent of a light northern Rhone syrah, minimal peppery component, the fleshy nose and palate are well represented.
