At first blush, this wine speaks Bordeaux. The nose and palate have a blue fruit/urethane/woody yet not quite barnyard thing that made my subconscious think old world. It's a bit powerful (unctuous?), with tannins that still give it the ability to overcome meaty foods. It's a pity I have no more to examine in the future.
Dark color. Bottle open for 20 min before consumption. On the nose overwhelming crushed violets, red and green peppers with some dark candied fruit. On the palate the vegetal flavor is the initial blast with some dark currant and cassis. Overall a unpleasant taste.A medicinal taste lingers on the finish. The crushed violets on the nose was cool and surprising but nothing else about this was worth recommending. Maybe decanting will help as some of the previous tasting notes recommends.
