More intense and spicier than the 1975 on the side, despite both perfect vintages. Caramel, toffee, tropical fruit, peppercorn, mixed spice, nutty, striking acidity and volume. 96

Whole Lotta Lafite; 1/26/2024-1/27/2024 (Wine Watch, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida): The bottle looked great including the color through the glass. But this was a very weak example. Smells too much like acetone. Only moderate viscosity and not much botrytis either. While it was very sweet, the acidity was much too high so the balance was lacking.

White Alba truffle dinner at Park Place: Always a treat to drink a d’Yquem. This one was excellent. Caramel, brown sugar, spice. I love the balance of sweetness and acidity. A real treat.

This bottle rocked it! The gold, mahogany hue brought you to the perfume, packed with marshmallows, orange rind, creme brulee, caramel, butterscotch, spice, brown butter, popcorn, roasted cashews, and pineapple coated with brown sugar. The wine is concentrated, lush, silky, sweet, vibrant, fresh, and packed with oranges, tangerines, mango, pineapple, spice, brown sugar, and almonds. The mid-palate, and finish provided a memorable experience that shows why Chateau d'Yquem is in a league all of its own. This bottle was particularly-strong, much better than any previous example I remember tasting. This is a stellar example of a mature d'Yquem! Drink from 2023-2067.

Lovingly stored, and consumed with great emotion. The wine was in stunning shape, amber colored and not as dark as one might expect. Balanced and ethereal, with loads of orange, apricot, coconut, vanilla and fig. The acidity kept things in check. Really soared when consumed alongside mini-blue cheese souffles and apricot sorbet.

(Château d'Yquem) Beautiful medium dark orange color with red lights and pale meniscus; heavenly orange, caramel and creme brulee nose; tart orange, creme brulee, juicy, with great depth, apricot, dates, good acidity; long finish
(Château d'Yquem) From half bottles - lovely peach, amber gold color. The nose was the beautiful apricot one expects, with hints of hazelnut. From these small bottles, the wine was drinking beautifully now; rich, concentrated and unctuous apricot and nutty ambrosia, with a super long finish.
