Bought at Dave's Italian Kitchen in Evanston, IL for $48. BTW, the wine list has some nice affordable treats on it like this wine, recommend checking it out if you are in the area. Some nice mocha/cocoa, blueberry with nice balance. Good length still. Good with lamb chops.

Very pleasing nose of ink, fennel, black currant and red pastille fruits, a touch of rare meat and wood ash. Medium-bodied with flavors very similar to the nose - licorice, bright red fruit, smoked meat with added notes of mocha and a little green olive. An energetic finish brimming with zesty berry, stone dust and salty sea breeze. A lively wine full of interesting complexities and very consistent with a recent bottle. My only concern is a finish that borders on tart.

I wish I had more of these. This was a great bottle of syrah. Lots of complexity and beautifully balanced.

Ripe and lush Syrah, with great blueberry fruit still stealing the show. A bit of heat on the finish, with no sign of tannins. B+/A-
