A business lunch (Restaurant De Bokkedoorns **, Overveen, NL): Relatively lactic on the nose, ripe cherries, spices, floral lift, good depth; the palate balances elegant fleshy softness and pleasant grip, medium weight; slightly tight finish, good length.

Tasted this for the first time at a wine dinner at Dante's in Omaha, where it stood out as paired with wonderful food. Upon second tasting at home, it started with a whiff of yeast that cleared to reveal some fruit with a rustic background. Full in the mouth with the fruit receding quicker than I would have liked. Good solid finish. Needs food (rustic), and would do better as a starter wine because, tonight, by the third glass, I feel that I've explored the wine and I'm ready to move on. I'll try another bottle in a few months, but based on tonight's bottle, I'd drink now to 2017.

Medium-bodied. Typical red-fruity Graves. OK to drink, a bit one-dimensional.
