  • I liked this but wasn’t blown away. First time trying this chateau and I have to agree with the plurality of previous reviews that this just lacks a bit of something. Still has a nice medium-dark purple red color. The initial nose was a little soft, with some very fruit forward notes of cassis, black currant and cherries. Not a lot of tannin here, very much sanded down. In the first 30 minutes of drinking (undecanted) I almost would’ve guessed California cab. After an a hour or so it developed a bit of secondary aroma with tobacco, cedar and a bit wet earth balancing out the fruit and elevated the wine a point or so in my opinion. Honestly not sure this rises to the level of other Grand Cru Classe B but it’s a contender. Good, just not amazing - but not bad for the price.

  • Not an Ordinary Monday (Lorenzo's , London): Not sure here. Either the bottle was off or this wine is sufferings from a voluptuous and over ripe youth of the 2005 vintage. ad a bit of VA on the nose all along, the palate was harsh and unwelcoming and the fruit felt burnt. The notes below don't seem to agree with our experience so we will not rate and blame it on the bottle rater the wine but if indeed this was the right experience we would worry dearly or this wine. NR from us but it we had to 85

  • Medium body, I thought it was ready after a decant of one hour. There was a degree of black fruit, blueberries and damson, but there were also lingering grippy tannins and a hard edginess.

  • Still a bit on the young side with the acidity and tannins going into a battle with some air. An intense wine with ripe fruits with the focus on black fruit. A bit too expensive unfortunately.
