  • Beautiful nose of creosote, black currant, French oak and mint! Medium bodied with cranberry, pomegranate and red currant as well as some charred wood. Quite old, but still fresh, delicious and charming! 91

  • en Magnum
Robe : Évoluée des pourtours couleur brique. Mais pas très prononcé. Brillante

  • The 1985 Meyney delivered just that with lovely notes of wet leaves, coffee, leather, and traces of black fruits. I was honestly a little worried as the cork was soaked, but the fill was VTS. It ended up being ok though. This wine is very tertiary and probably has not much left to give so drink up! 90

  • Some aged wines: Had the old-school Cordier funk that I adore. Drinking fabulously for an unheralded (although personally I hold it in high esteem) wine of this age. Loved the classicism of this, plenty of character and complexity that only years in the bottle can bring.

  • !985 is my favorite vintage of Bordeaux. That being said , I had little hope for '85 Meyney, a lowly bottling; this was surprisingly good. May be slightly past prime, but still so wonderful to drink. Cork disintegrated, but this has little to do do with the health of an old wine. Wonderful nose and balance. Was 1985 the '53 of this generation? Based on my tasting, your high end '85s will be with us for a while.
