Shared with the Vinocellar/Freeman Cave weekend folks @ Friday night dinner at John Ash restaurant. No formal notes, but the wine was showing no signs of falling off. A few felt it had another 10 years in it.

This was good...and that's frustrating. Frustrating because it was a flash in the pan, not to be repeated! Dark, fresh fruit and slurpable. Not complex and not expecting it to be so. Served against spaghetti & meatballs. Could have used a little more acidity to keep up with the fresh tomato sauce, but who cares! Fun, and well done wine.

I held onto this bottle for a good while and drank last night at Mozza with some pizza and sweet potatoe bruschetta. Paired very well. The wine is pretty broad, full bodied and some brightness still remains but the acid is a background player, if much at all. Dark fruit, zin-like in flavors. Suggest a drink now and enjoy.

There is no point assigning a number to this. A 100% Alicante Bouschet is pretty unusual. Very educational to taste the pure Alicante Bouschet. It certainly reveals the ingredient it adds to Zinfandels and other primary wines with which it is blended. Black, round and fruity. Fun. Thanks Mike.

This was quite good. More like a less tannic, more fruity Petite Sirah. Quite lovely and wish I had another one.
